UVP – My Story

Hello, my name is Hugo Pignatone.
Since September 2025, I’ve been an apprentice in Digital Sciences at ENSEEIHT, completing my work-study program at Thales Alenia Space within the cryptography department. I’m passionate about critical systems engineering, history, and trail running, which has become a major part of my life.

Before joining ENSEEIHT, several experiences shaped my path.
In 2020, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I had my first immersion in practical IT: working with real systems, understanding user needs, and learning autonomy.
In 2025, I joined the IT department of the SAFIBRI group, working on document exports and data interfaces. This taught me to manage deadlines, communicate technical constraints, and adapt to diverse environments.
Academically, I obtained a science-focused high school diploma, then a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a specialization in cryptography at the University of Lorraine. These studies deepened my interest in applied cybersecurity.

The person who inspires me the most is my father, Frédéric Pignatone.
With more than 25 years in IT management and large-scale projects, he built his career through hard work and discipline. What inspires me is not only his achievements, but the way he built them: guiding teams, transmitting knowledge, and keeping people at the center. From him, I learned rigor, responsibility, and the importance of transmission.

For the future, I’ve defined three possible paths.
Plan A: continue at Thales Alenia Space and gradually take on more technical and human responsibilities.
Plan B: work in engineering in Metz or Luxembourg, where cybersecurity and critical systems are strongly established.
Plan C: become a computer science teacher, because I’ve always enjoyed explaining and helping others understand.

Regarding international mobility, my main objective is the Institute of Technology of Cambodia. Their program in AI Engineering and Cybersecurity aligns perfectly with my apprenticeship and would allow me to strengthen my skills in an international environment.

Finally, beyond academics, trail running has played a decisive role in my life. It helped me lose more than 40 kilos in a year and a half, but above all, it taught me discipline, consistency, and confidence, qualities that guide everything I do today.
